Formative Search is collaborating with a prominent company specializing in the ownership and operation of LNG carriers and FSRUs to recruit a Vessel Manager for their fleet. The Vessel Manager serves as the primary leader of their ship management team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned vessels.Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize the health, safety, and environmental well-being of crew and operations.
- Ensure vessels are operated in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, adhering to class, statutory, and company regulations.
- Provide continuous support to vessels under management, offering technical and operational guidance.
- Oversee vessel budgets and control operating expenditure to ensure financial efficiency.
- Track vessel performance, initiate corrective actions where necessary, and ensure the timely review and action of vessel management reports.
- Manage the complete dry-docking process, including planning, execution, and post-project review for both scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
- Conduct regular onboard visits to assess vessel condition and ensure compliance with company standards. Provide senior management with detailed condition reports.
- Conduct regular ship visits to ensure equipment and vessel maintenance meet high standards using the company’s management system. Work with Marine Assurance and vessel staff to maintain vetting compliance and address any inspection findings promptly.
- Work alongside ship staff, Fleet Support Officers, Business Development teams, and Financial Analysts to ensure all legislative and maintenance requirements are factored into the budgeting process. Attend OPEX budget meetings with customers as necessary.
Key Requirements:
- Maritime Certificate of Competency (Master/Chief Engineer Unlimited) or equivalent experience in vessel management.
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role within vessel operations or management.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a focus on technical vessel operations, including propulsion plants, cargo handling systems, and containment systems.
- In-depth knowledge of vessel types managed, along with understanding of their operational and technical requirements.
- NGL Experience: Experience with Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) operations is desirable.
