Job Overview:
Formative Search have partnered with a leading Developer in the Philippines. We are supporting their search for a Senior Project Development Manager to lead and manage the development of multiple renewable energy projects in the region.
  
The role involves overseeing the entire project development lifecycle, from identifying and initiating new greenfield projects to ensuring successful project execution.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and originate new greenfield renewable energy projects.
  • Lead the development of multiple projects in collaboration with both local and international teams.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to projects and propose corresponding mitigation strategies.
  • Forecast and manage project-related development expenses, ensuring adherence to budget.
  • Contribute to the commercial planning and evaluation of projects, offering country-specific insights for CAPEX and OPEX assumptions.
  • Manage external consultants by defining the scope of work, monitoring progress, and ensuring outputs meet agreed-upon schedules and budgets.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and government policies, assessing the impact on opportunities and risks.
  
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, geodetic, civil, environmental) or a business-related field.
  • Engineering license is preferred.
  • A Master’s degree in business, engineering, or renewable energy is an advantage.
  
Experience, Skills, and Requirements:
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years focused on project development.
  • Solid understanding of the renewable energy project development process in the Philippines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and work independently when needed.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Expertise in wind and solar PV projects is a significant advantage.
