About the RoleFormative Search have partnered with a Leading Offshore Wind Developer in APAC who are seeking an experienced O&M Specialist to support their offshore wind projects in Japan. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to asset management and operations & maintenance (O&M) activities for large-scale offshore wind assets, while ensuring effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
As part of the Asset Management Team, you will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage technical, financial, and regulatory aspects of the projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all asset management practices follow the ISO31000-based ISO55000 framework, focusing on risk mitigation related to safety, asset integrity, security, and reputation.
You will also support the project development process, coordinate asset management concepts, manage financial budgets, and work with consultants, grid operators, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and manage risks related to asset integrity, safety, security, and reputation in asset management and O&M operations.
- Contribute to the development of asset management documentation, financial budgets, and asset safety assessments.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, technical support, procurement) and external stakeholders (contractors, subcontractors, OEMs, and regulatory authorities).
- Support the procurement process by selecting and managing vendors, ensuring quality, timing, and budget requirements are met.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as government agencies, grid operators, and engineering consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide input on asset safety and operability parameters during the design and engineering process, ensuring compliance with project deadlines and schedules.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (high voltage background preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in offshore wind, oil & gas, or asset management sectors, with a background in cost control, contract management, and electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of asset management processes and frameworks, including ISO 55000.
- Strong time management and coordination skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage technical and commercial discussions with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Japanese and English (business-level required).
