Role Summary
 
As the Head of M&A, you will play a key role in driving mergers and acquisitions, deal structuring and execution of strategic projects including transactions and fund-raising initiatives. This role will be based in the Head Quarters and will be working closely with the country teams, CIO and CEO in identifying strategic opportunities, oversee asset level commercial analysis and structuring to inform investment decisions, and manage / support M&A transactions.
 
How You Will Make an Impact
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic M&A opportunities that align with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Lead end to end M&A processes, including due diligence, valuation, financial modelling, risk assessment, and valuation analysis.
  • Negotiate deal terms and structure to maximize value and minimize risks.
  • Oversee the successful integration of acquired entities, ensuring operational and financial synergies are realized.
  • Lead asset level commercial analysis and structuring work to optimize value and decision making.
  • Engage stakeholders, including investors, partners, regulators, and broader renewables community
  • Develop and maintain extensive network to keep abreast of market trends, industry developments, and potential investment opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, institutional investors, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Lead capital-raising efforts, including equity, debt, and hybrid instruments, to ensure optimal capital structure.
  • Monitor and assess capital market trends to identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
  • Regularly report to the executive team and board on investment performance and strategic initiatives
  • Manage and mentor investment team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
  • Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to develop and execute the company’s overall M&A strategy.
  • Provide strong and strategic leadership – bringing people together and developing an effective, diverse and inclusive team which can achieve the company's mission.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the areas of investment management, corporate finance, M&A, strategy or corporate development, and a strong track record in the renewable energy sector
  • Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and close complex investment deals
  • Exceptional analytical and financial knowledge
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and develop talent
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a range of audiences
  • Extensive network in the renewable energy investment sector particularly in Asia Pacific.
  • Dynamic self-starter who can manage a range of competing priorities and projects, with a history of achieving excellent results.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of driving change and innovation.
  • Experience in a multinational environment, working across different Asian countries with a high degree of cultural awareness
  • Energetic, forward-thinking, creative and well-organized
  • Fluent in English, any additional Asian languages (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Bahasa) will be a plus.
