Job description

Our client is a global infrastructure development business that focuses on renewable energy and sustainable focused projects in Asia. They are looking for a Head of Legal to be based in Singapore.
Responsibilities
 
  • Manage and oversee advice and actions in relation to the development, structuring, financing and operating of investments and projects.
  • Provide general commercial legal support and advice to senior management and the various business units in Asia.
  • Advise and provide legal support on project financing transactions within the region, including the negotiation of loan and security documentation with financiers and related ancillary documents.
  • Assist with the management of ongoing project development activities with local partners and service providers.
  • Work closely and (cost) effectively with internal and external stakeholders in order to manage transactions from start to finish.
  • Assess and address legal and contractual risks and helping to manage and mitigate identified risks.
  • Manage and oversee external counsel and advisors in the delivery of work product, including managing counsel spend and budget.
  • Manage and motivate the Asia Legal Team to achieve efficient and effective service levels to internal and external stakeholders, including effective team building, management and succession planning as a functional leader.
Experience
  • Qualification as a legal practitioner in a common law jurisdiction with a minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Experience in Asia, particularly in emerging markets, including development finance, project finance and M&A.
  • Expertise in renewables, infrastructure or related sectors.
  • Proven track record in developing talent, leading a team and mentoring team members.
  • Significant experience in managing complex transactions.
  • Experience in working on disputes.
  • Meticulous and good organisation skills
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as in a team
