Job description

Formative Search is working with a leading provider of innovative EPCIC solutions focused on renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, specializing in offshore wind, floating LNG, and energy transition projects. They are looking for a skilled and results-driven Business Development Director with extensive experience in the oil & gas industry to lead strategic growth efforts across Australia and New Zealand.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement business development strategies aimed at expanding the company’s market share in the oil & gas sector.
  • Take charge of sales and marketing initiatives, driving the acquisition of new clients and nurturing long-term business relationships.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic insights to senior leadership on sales performance and market dynamics.
  • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships, while monitoring industry trends and competitive movements to adjust strategies.
  • Lead proposal creation, negotiations, and contract management to secure new business deals.
  • Work closely with technical and project teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects, meeting client expectations.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to strengthen the brand and build a network of potential clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure business development strategies align with the company’s overall vision and objectives.
 
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in business development or sales.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand oil & gas markets and established relationships with key players.
  • A proven track record of securing and managing high-value business contracts and strategic partnerships.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
